There are a few things we all need to avoid this summer. Being too hot for too long can lead to many illnesses like hyperthermia which is deadly, especially in older individuals. Avoid feelings of headache, nausea, dizziness, muscle spasms, and fatigue. Not enough water or shade can cause these symptoms of hyperthermia. A form of hyperthermia is heat stroke. This is where a person has a body temperature of 104 degrees Fahrenheit or more. Other symptoms to watch for are confusion, combativeness, bizarre behavior, faintness, staggering, strong rapid pulse, dry flushed skin, lack of sweating or coma, and dehydration. Too much sunshine can lead to skin cancer. The UV radiation or invisible rays that come from the sun is related to skin cancer. So always wear sun screen and protective clothing. (Harrison , 2017)

In conclusion there are many great moments to be had this summer with family and friends. Remember, with a caregiver things are safer. A caregiver can help all aspects of your daily activities this summer. Caregivers can help with meal prep, showering, dressing, traveling to a friends house, and light house keeping.
