We all have a morning routine whether we are aware of it or not. Morning routines are the steps, activities, and habits we perform every morning to prepare for the day. Everyone has a morning routine, but not everyone has a healthy morning routine.
An example of a great morning routine includes waking up early, stretching, brushing teeth, shaving, showering, dressing, and eating a healthy breakfast. Another example of a good morning routine is waking up on time, eating breakfast, going out for a walk with your dogs, showering, and redressing for the day. Here are a few tips to adjust your morning routine: open your curtains and let the natural light energize you, put on some upbeat tunes on, do light stretching.
The benefits of a morning routine are real. This morning routines starts your day and leads into the rest of your day. Including stretching, exercise, social time, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or other healthy activity and sticking to it has many great benefits. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness having a morning routine can increase your energy, productivity and positivity. ( Luna Greenstein, 9 Aug. 2017)
It is never too late to create a morning routine for ourselves. To create a morning routine consciously, you have to think about the steps you take every morning. This is a great time to add new steps or take wasteful steps away. Bad habits or steps like sleeping in, not showering, not brushing teeth, and putting on clean clothes can be replaced with waking up early, showering, brushing teeth, and putting on fresh clothing. If you need help with your morning routine set up an appointment with a caregiving agency to coordinate your first day with a caregiver. You can also click here to view the care plan form. Our care plan form includes many sections including a morning routine section, evening routine section, preferences and dislikes section, and hour by hour section. These documents will only be used to coordinate your care with your circle of care team.
