Meal Prep And Care Plans

An article on meal prep and care plans.

Meal prep and cooking is a duty of all caregivers working at Champion Care. This portion of the care plan is covered by the client and the clients needs that are outlined on the care plan. This component of the care plan is called food and preferences. This is then translated into your caregivers work day routine. Caregivers are responsible for driving to the grocery store and picking up the groceries, preparing the meal, cooking the meal, serving the meal, and then cleaning up afterward. Caregivers are also responsible for all spoon feeding or helping with meal time. The care plan forms can be found on the first page or home page on the click "Here" header or by visiting this link

In this section you can specify anything you need to including the types of food you like and how you like the foods to be served. This is the time to specify what type of diet and modifications you would like including regular, soft, minced, or puree. For example, a regular diet includes normal foods that are prepared whole and served whole. These foods are foods that require to be chewed thoroughly. The next option is a soft diet. The soft diet consists of  softer foods like canned foods, well cooked fish, meal loaf, and foods that are easier to chew. According to care academy, if you can cut through the food using a fork then it's most likely soft enough for this diet. The next diet is the minced or ground diet. This diet consists of foods that are chopped into small pieces. The puree diet is completely processed with some liquid like broth to create a consistent texture. Here are a few tips. Always remember to wash your hands for 30 seconds prior to preparing your meal. Do not cross contaminate fish, beef, poultry and vegetables, fruits, or cooked foods. For best practices, always clean your kitchen thoroughly to control the mold and bacteria. Finally, throw food out after three days.

There are several sections in our care plan found on the home page like breakfast options, lunch options, dinner options, snack options, preferences, and dislikes, notes, notes for caregivers, and special instructions. Ensure you are creating a meal plan that is well balanced with fruits, vegetables, whole grains, meat, and dairy. There are also sections to outline routines like morning routine and evening routine. This information will be translated for the caregiver so they can prepare for the client to deliver the best quality care. They also have the ability to communicate with management at any time for any reason including questions about the client and the care plan.
